France student and researcher health insurance - Welcome
Students and researchers living and studying in France, must proof that they have a sufficient health insurance and are also entitled for the French social security. But some exception are listed here under.

Non-EU students under 28
In accordance with the French national health system (social security), students under 28 year old must take out the national health care.
The French national health system covers up to 70% of the medical expenses. Dental treatments, glasses, medicines are covered like various reimbursements percent.
The costs of the social security in France is average € 200 per year. Attention, note that additional insurance plan is highly recommended in order to avoid surprise in case of sickness and accident claims.
WARNING :The waiting time for obtaining the French student social security is at minimum 3 months and up to 6 months. To avoid financial problems in case of a sickness and accident, it is also highly recommended to buy a private insurance plan. This plan is provided here with the SWISSCARE French package.
