Health insurance in Austria
If you study or research in Austria, it is very important to have a sufficient health insurance covers the treatments in Austria. In order to entry in Austria, you must enclose to the VISA documents, a copy of your health insurance certificate. Austria has a good public social insurance system with local public carriers (Gebietskrankenkassen) in all federal provinces (9). Since under certain conditions foreign national insurance carriers cover the costs for medical treatment of acute illnesses in Austria.
